THE FUTURE

Today’s Prayer “God I pray for my child’s future. Help them to discover the gifts you have blessed them with. I pray for the future friends. I pray for the future spouse. I pray that they would follow you now and into eternity.” One of the greatest acts of release is praying for the future of your child. It’s a crazy world out there, and nothing is guaranteed. When we pray for their future we open up faith that God is in control, He will make a way, and He will guide our child. One of the roles of a good parent is to help your child learn new skills and abilities to not only equip them for daily life but also to help them discover gifts that God has uniquely designed them with. Children are also very impressionable and praying for quality friends for your children will likely influence who they become. Sometimes it’s important to pray that particular questionable friends may be removed from your child’s life. Next, we turn to praying for your child’s future spouse. That God would raise

The Day God Died

The Gospel of John chapter 19. When it comes to the crucifixion of Jesus, everything happened as God said it would. I’m sure you noticed in verse 24 the phrase, “that the Scripture might be fulfilled.” https//bible.com/bible/114/jhn.19.24.NKJV. This was referring to the soldiers who gambled to see who would win Jesus’ jacket. The crazy thing is, David wrote about this moment 1,000 years earlier in the book of Psalms.  "They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots." https://bible.com/bible/114/psa.22.18.NKJV And there’s a lot more where that came from. In verse 28 of John chapter 19, we see the same phrase being used again when Jesus says, “I thirst!” David described this moment in Psalm 22:15, “My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue clings to my jaws, you have brought me to the dust of death.” David even goes on in Psalm 22 to describe Jesus on the cross with his hands and his feet pierced.  David wrote this 500 years before crucifixi

God wants you to grow.

Whether your thumb is green or not, when it comes to the Christian life, God wants you to grow. But what does it look like to be a flourishing plant in God’s garden? Plants need four things to live—dirt, air, light, and water—and there are correlations in each of those to our walk with the Lord. Dirt: Genesis says that God created man out of the dust of the earth. We must remember that we are nothing but dust—humble jars of clay. Air: Every breath we are given comes from the Lord. Light: Jesus calls himself the “light of the world.” God has embedded in our souls a process similar to photosynthesis; we must be in contact with the light constantly, not sporadically. Water: Jesus once famously asked, “Is anyone thirsty?” and then promised that if anyone thirsted, they could come to him to be satisfied. The Scriptures often equate water to the Spirit, the Word of God, and worship. These are the means by which we remain spiritually hydrated. When these elements come together we will “bear m
