If you have been following Loveworld, you would notice that we are celebrating 25 years of being on television. Television is a broad spectrum of saying you. You have been part of this from the beginning, and also those that have been with us from before television. Thank you for believing the word we brought to you. You were smart enough, God helping you of course, to open the scriptures we shared with you, and see that they are true. You saw that they were true and you stuck with us. This is proof that the word works.  Some beau...

THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge ~ Hosea 4:6 Two striking things are revealed to us in our theme verse: the first is the fact that God’s people can be destroyed and the second is the reason it’s possible for them to be destroyed, which is their lack of knowledge of God’s Word. The ignorance of God’s Word is such a terrible thing. Jesus said to the Jews,  “ You err, because you don’t know the Scriptures ” ( Matthew 22:29 ). This helps us further understand why the Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15 , “ Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ”  The solution to every problem, the answer to every question, and everything you’d ever require in life are all in the Word. Don’t ignore the Word. To ignore the Word is to set yourself up for failure and unnecessary hardships in life.  Jesus said, “ And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free ”  ~ John 8:32. Proverbs  1...

HE GAVE US HIS NAME!

Image
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name-  Philippians 2:9 At the mention of the Name of Jesus, the Bible says every knee should bow. This is the sovereign decree of Almighty God; it’s a law in the spirit-realm. When the Name of Jesus is called, everyone submits to it in heaven, in the earth, and under the earth. It’s impossible to resist the power of His Name. This is the Name He gave us to live by.  The Bible says, “ And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus …” ( Colossians 3:17 ). Do you know what this means? Many people pray in the Name of Jesus; but for some, it’s just a religious observation or rite. Some don’t even believe, but they pray in His Name anyway.  For those of us who believe in Him, the Bible says in Mark 16:17-18 , “ And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serp...

Mercy Seat?

What Does It Mean that God Is Merciful? The word mercy is one of those words that many of us grew up hearing all the time, but we possibly never truly understood its meaning. If I were in my grandmothers’ presence for any length of time, both would eventually have reason to call on the Lord with the famous southern prayer, “Laud, have mercy!”  In that context, I knew exactly what mercy was. It was whatever the Lord would do for my grandmothers to help them not skin my hide. As the years passed and I matured spiritually, I began to suspect that the word mercy likely carried a much deeper meaning than my grandmothers’ usage, especially as it related to God.  On more than one occasion, through the years, I have found this to be true as God daily displays deeper and deeper depths of His merciful character in ways that always leave me in awe.  This is, in fact, the question which we are seeking to answer. What does mercy reveal about the heart and character of God? The only pl...

The Beauty of Grace.

Image
GRACE HEAPED UPON GRACE . But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever Amen (2 Peter 3:18 ) Did you know that you could walk in ever increasing grace? This is what God wants for your life: grace heaped upon grace such that no matter the challenges you face, the grace to put you over is available.   John 1:16 says, “ And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace .” The Amplified version says, “ For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift] .” The Greek margin actually says, “Grace heaped upon grace.” This encompasses spiritual blessings, favours, gifts, etc. Every day, be conscious that you have grace for whatever you need and for anything you have to do. The grace of God on your life is the inner working of the glory and power of God tha...

Casual Sex!

Many people wonder what the big deal with casual sex is. For many it begins like this: They’re on a date, and kissing begins to turn into something more. They know what the Bible says about sex before marriage but they’re excited and feeling good about where things are going. Surely, God won’t mind. They believe that once they do get married, they’re sure they’ll be able to commit to that one special person, but for now, what’s the problem with having some fun and exploring sex? For a lot of people, sex is no big deal. Purity and chastity seem to be virtues that have gone out of fashion. The crisis of values has led many young people to see sex as the center of their dating relationship. Many people believe it’s for fun and pleasure, but it doesn’t have to be confined to a committed marriage. In fact, a lot of people would say, “sleep with as many people as you can,” or “have as much sex as you can!” These are the messages and cues we receive from the media – in magazines, on TV and on...

Cremation.

Is it wrong to cremate a person’s body according to the Bible? Historically, cremation has not been part of the Christian tradition. Early Christians agreed with their Jewish ancestors that cremation was not an option they would consider, even though the Bible includes no specific mandate prohibiting it. However, this view has transformed over the years. Today, many of us have friends or family members who were cremated and cremation is sounding more and more like something we might consider for ourselves. But is cremation an acceptable option for Christians? Many factors influence a person’s choice on what to do with the body after death. Some of these factors include wealth of the family, the status of the individual, the climate of the country, health, sanitation and religious beliefs, among other things. Among these variables comes the debate of burial vs. cremation. The previously named factors contribute to the choices that each individual and family will make with respect to the...

PRAISE HIM

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them (Acts 16:25). Something remarkable about the way Paul and Silas praised the Lord in Acts 16 was that they were exuberant in their praise and worship of the Lord. It was supposed to be for them a moment of gloom, loneliness and despondency, but rather than be overwhelmed with despair, they sang praises unto God. They didn’t just mutter songs quietly, fearful of the prison guards, they sang as loud as they could such that the prisoners heard them. This is one of the faith-ways to respond in the face of contrary situations; you praise and worship the Lord exuberantly, knowing that in Him you’re more than a conqueror. If it seems as though you’re in the “darkest hour” of your life, don’t despair! Don’t try to remind God of the problem, no; praise Him! You might say, “But if I don’t tell Him my problems, He won’t know what’s on my mind”; you’re wrong. He knows everything, because He’s God. Take yo...

PRAISE!

ACTIVATE GOD’S POWER THROUGH PRAISE BY PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME. 2 Chronicles 20:21-22 TLB “After consultation with the leaders of the people, he determined that there should be a choir leading the march, clothed in sanctified garments and singing the song “His Loving-Kindness Is Forever” as they walked along praising and thanking the Lord! And at the moment they began to sing and to praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to begin fighting among themselves, and they destroyed each other! Three nations—Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—had come out against Judah and were ready to attack her. The people of Judah became frantic and began to cry out in fear. However, their king, Jehoshaphat, decided to gather all the people together for a prayer and fasting meeting. As they prayed, God revealed to them the exact location of their enemies’ camp, and gave them a very unique strategy to defeat them: they were not to fight but to sing praises to His Name! 2 Chronicles 20:22...

Rise Again

On the 9th of December 1982, a 30 year old woman was raped and stabbed in her Baton Rouge home in Louisiana by an unknown black male. On the 4th of January 1983, a 22 old black male named ARCHIE WILLIAMS was arrested as the culprit, a crime he knew nothing about. He knew he was innocent and didn’t commit any crime but as a poor black kid, he didn’t have the economic ability to fight the state of Louisiana. During his trial it was discovered that fingerprints found at the crime scene was not his own, Williams also had Three (3) witnesses that came forward to testify that Williams was at home sleeping when the crime occurred and the victim herself wasn’t able to identify Williams as the culprit but succumbed after intense pressure by the police. The victims neighbor also said the culprit was taller than Williams. Even with all these facts proving that Williams was innocent, the state of Louisiana convicted Williams of the crime on April 21, 1983. He was sentenced to life imprisonment wit...

What Is Gaslighting? Understanding the Warning Signs and Way of Escape

The official definition for gaslighting is to manipulate (someone) by psychological means into questioning their own sanity (Oxford dictionary). I’m going to offer it to you another way, in the way that I experienced it with my alcoholic mother: What Is Gaslighting? The first thing you should know is that her verbal genius consisted in masterful sarcasm and an ability to convince you that you are the dumbest, most incompetent person she’s ever been around (skillfully slipped between the times she tells you how much she loves you). After she cuts you down over and over again, you get angry and the fire inside you rises. Once this happens and you tell her to stop or try to explain how she is hurting you, she gets self-righteously calm — so, so calm — and as you reel from her smugly spoken passive-aggressive comments, she slides into the role of victim.  Why are you yelling? Why are you so angry? You have a problem. You are now in an alternate reality where you can no longer tell what...

Don't Miss the Detour

Dear Friend, When I’m driving, the last thing I want is to have to take an out-of-the-way detour. When I see the orange signs and arrows, I often get frustrated. I just wanted to get to my destination as quickly as possible, and now I am being inconvenienced.  Detours are typically unexpected inconveniences which may cause a speed bump in your emotions. They let you know the road you are traveling is no longer available. And now, because of the detour, we must go off the beaten path, take longer than we had wished to, and be inconvenienced in order to arrive where we had hoped to go.  But detours are necessary if any improvement is going to be made on the roads we travel. Or if a wreck is going to be cleaned up or a hazard avoided. Detours are designed for our own good, regardless of how we view or feel about them. They are good things that often feel bad. Sometimes we experience spiritual detours in our lives. God leads us in a path other than what we had planned. These divin...

What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Believe?

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in a myriad of unbiblical ideas. Jehovah’s Witnesses try to claim that they are Christians, but they are not. Similar to the Church of the Latter-Day Saints, previously known as the Mormon Church, the Jehovah’s Witnesses are a cult. This means they are not true Christians, and they do not truly know the truth of Jesus. In this article, we are going to discover what Jehovah’s Witnesses believe. 1. They Do Not Believe Jesus Is God Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe Jesus is God. Instead of believing Jesus to be God, Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus was created by Jehovah as Michael the archangel at some time prior to the creation of the world. The Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus is a lesser “god,” but not the God of the universe. They only see Jehovah as the true mighty God, not Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Jehovah’s Witnesses are wrong because Jesus is God. The Lord declared Himself to be God through His seven “I AM” statements (John 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15...

The Word of God is Everything

SPEAK “THE WORD "But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her" (Luke 10:42). The Word of God is everything. Jesus reiterated this in our opening verse when He chastised Martha for being encumbered and troubled by many things. He said one thing is needful, which is the Word of God, and her sister Mary, gave attention to it.  When the world was a chaotic mass, empty and in darkness, what did God do? He didn’t call the angels for a construction exercise; He didn’t fix it by trying to do anything with His hands. He only said, “Let there be light,” and there was light (Genesis 1:3).  Words are powerful, but the Word of God is all powerful . Always remember that. When you were born again, you were born of the Word: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever” (1 Peter 1:23). You’re an offspring of the Word, called to live by the Word, built and being ...

ONLY IMAGINE POSITIVE OUTCOMES

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think , according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20). The human spirit is very powerful, with tremendous creative and imaginative ability. Remember, man was created in the image of God; he looks like God and functions like God. That’s why we say, “Your imaginative power is your creative ability.”  Knowing this, therefore, you should only imagine positive outcomes. Refuse to worry about anything. Worry helps you imagine the worst-case scenario. Worry helps you imagine negative possibilities, and your imagination of those negative possibilitis crystalizes them.  Worry helps make your fears possible.  It’s the reason God tells us not to worry or be anxious for nothing ( Phillipians 4.6 ). You may say, “What if something has gone wrong, shouldn’t I be worried?” No! Simply refuse to worry!  It makes no difference what happens with the economy, health care or health “scare.” When yo...

You can proclaim that peace, in the country where you live. It is coming from you. Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. It is by the words of God that you proclaim and prophecy peace.  Learn to put prayer first! You cannot rise in your life above your prayer life. It determines the kind of relationship you have with God and the results you get in your life.  Learning to put prayer first is not a topic of discussion, it's a reality. (Just like eating food. It's just something you do, not discuss).  Six months ...
